    The Lippe Bridge over the Dortmund Ems Canal was an old steel trough, which was replaced in the course of the canal widening by two new. In 2005, during the construction of the first new steel trough next to the still existing old trough, there was a leak in the canal. The channel was leaked at this point in the lip and only the gates in Datteln and Lüdinghausen prevented the complete emptying. In 2017 the road under the canal was cleared again.
