The Lobor-grad home for adults is located in a valley at the foot of the Ivanščica mountain, approximately halfway between Zlatar and Lobor. The institution was formed on the former estate of the Keglević family around the castle, which dates from the second half of the 17th century.

The first form of institution for the care of the elderly and sick is found around 1920, when Russian doctors - captured on the Eastern Front in World War I, established a hospital in the castle, which operated from 1920 to 1923.

After that, the castle was uninhabited until 1937, when it was bought by the Society for the Suppression of Begging and Supporting the Infirm, which opened an almshouse in it. Initially, there were only 5 people in the castle, but by the beginning of World War II, there were about 60 people in it. During World War II, the institution retained its function.

On March 20, 1954, by the decision of the People's Committee of the Zlatar district, an institution was established as the "Home for the care of the elderly and the sick."

The next change in the name of the institution took place in 1977, when it changed its name to "Home for Adults". In 1980, a new part of the Home was opened, which doubled the accommodation capacity of the institution. In 1988, the Home for Adults again changed its name to "Institute for Social and Health Care Lobor-grad".

And finally, in 2015, the institution changed its name to "Home for Adults Lobor-grad", under which it still operates today.
