The Stralsund town hall is probably one of the most important and best known, secular buildings of the North German brick Gothic. His display wall with the seven pointed towers and the six star circles, whose silhouette falls towards the houses opposite (winter) or the pavement of the old market (summer) around noon, is unique. The Rostock town hall also had a Gothic brick display wall. However, this was covered so far by a baroque porch that only the seven towers of the original display wall are visible. The town hall is right next to the Nikolaikirche on the old market. It consists of two parallel, three-storey wings in the north-south direction, which were connected to each other by transverse structures on their narrow sides. The two wings, decorated with pointed arches, were built in the 13th century and form an inner courtyard with a colonnade, over which 1680 baroque galleries were built.
The transverse building on the south side also dates from the 13th century. The northern transverse building with its spacious arbor on the ground floor, a large hall above it and the wonderful brick display wall already mentioned was probably built at the beginning of the 15th century. A baroque portal with a Swedish coat of arms was built on the west side in the 18th century.

"The Wulflamhaus, Alter Markt 6, Stralsund, is the best known among the medieval gabled houses in Stralsund and was demonstrably built before 1358. Noteworthy are the atypical for merchant houses, located above the hall floor, as well as the magnificent arrow gable, as a scaled-down image of the town hall. Once it even had a balcony, reflecting the greed for power and wealth of the powerful Wulflam family, who used to live there for years, and Bertram Wulflam, one of Stralsund's most influential mayors, was considered a self-possessed and domineering contemporary he permanently kept his council colleagues and kept the city treasury in his house, where he decided what the money should be used for or whether it fills his own pockets.His eldest son Wulf Wulflam, spoiled offshoot of the autocratic dynasty behaved arrogant and idiosyncratic in the then Company All ft. An opposition to the abuse of power of the Wulflams formed under the new mayor Sarnow and the family fled with their assets to Lübeck. Under the threat of the exclusion of Stralsund from the Hanseatic League, the reinstatement of Wulflam as councilor was enforced. Sarnow was beheaded and the way to Stralsund was open again for the Wulflams. Bertram Wulflam, however, died in exile in Lübeck. His son Wulftrat in his footsteps, was elected mayor and was known for his legendary wealth. The equipment of the house should have put so many Fürstenhof in the shade. Due to his machinations and affairs vulnerable he was himself a victim of intrigue and murdered on the island of Rügen. His death marked the end of the most powerful dynasty in the Hanseatic League. 1987-1991, the building was expertly reconstructed. Today the Wulflamhaus Stralsund houses a restaurant and is the seat of the city president. The farm building in the yard from the 16th century, the so-called brewery, is now the theater of the Theater Vorpommern (access via the Knieperstraße, Altstadt Stralsund).
