The Zechenbahn route "Allee des Wandels" is a beautiful cycle path. Along the 9.5-kilometre route are theschlägel & Eisen and Ewald collieries and numerous smaller and larger heaps. In the south, the "Avenue of Change" also connects to the Emscherpark cycle path. Eight old bridges had to be renovated at great expense for the cycle and hiking trail. All steel parts of the bridges were painted red to increase the recognition value of the route.
