The partially rebuilt Roman fort is freely accessible in summer. In winter you have to forego a tour of the reconstructed parts, but you can still visit the outside area.
It's hard to believe that this facility was built around the year 90. Initially as a wooden and earth fort to ensure the protection and maintenance of the nearby Limes. Almost 80 years later, the old fort was replaced by stone buildings. In the middle of the 3rd century, like most other Roman forts north of the Danube, it was destroyed by an Alemannic invasion.
