Anyone cycling along the Weser River shouldn't simply pass by the monastery. Take a few minutes to stop. Just about 75 meters from the bike path, you'll find a peaceful spot. There's plenty of bike parking, as well as a restroom. About 100 meters further on, the Bursfelde Monastery Mill is highly recommended for refreshments. They also offer ample bike parking.

Beautiful Romanesque monastery church. It's worth taking a look inside!
When it rains, you can take a rest under the roof of the barn next door. There are tables, benches and a toilet.

Today: In 2019 there was a wonderful exhibition in the monastery church.
The daily open Romanesque church with wall paintings from the 15th century has a very spiritual ambience.
A spiritual center offers services for full-time and honorary employees of the church. The spiritual center includes the conference house and the area for contemplation and silence.
There is a pilgrim hostel next door.
Formerly: Founded probably in the 12th century. Around 1540, the monastery changed under Benedictine / Cistercian leadership in the course of the reform movement under Protestant hands. Then back again until it finally became evangelical in 1648.
