    Harkotten Castle is a rare double castle (Castle von Ketteler and Castle von Korff) and in private use. However, you can stop by the garden café there for coffee and cake and take a look at the facility from the outside.

      Beautiful moated castle in a great environment. The front is closed and private but at the back you can access the grounds of the moated castle. Here is also a castle shop with all sorts of interesting things and coffee is there as well. In the coat of arms of the castle you can enjoy meals or coffee and cake in the tastefully furnished ambience. Old coats of arms on the walls and pillars tell of Westphalian families and their history.

                Schloss Harkotten is located in the Sassenberg district of Füchtorf in Münsterland and is one of the rare examples of a double lock system. Since it is used for private purposes, it is generally not accessible to the public. An exception to this are some public events such as the garden festival at Schloss Korff. (Source Wikipedia).

                The adjacent bike path is very nice and leads through the forest. After prolonged rain, however, he is in the course very muddy.

                          The beautiful Harkotten Castle is one of the few double castles and is worth a visit! Although the castle complex is privately used and is not usually open to the public, an inviting garden café awaits you in the former outbuilding of the Korff Castle. Here you can enjoy the idyllic atmosphere with a cup of coffee and a piece of cake.

                          The manor house is also available for special public events, such as the popular garden festival.

                                              Harkotten Castle is located in the Sassenberg district of Füchtorf in the Münsterland and is one of the rare examples of a double castle complex.

                                              ... After the eastern mansion was replaced by the new Ketteler’s palace in the 18th century, the Barons von Korff also had their old mansion abandoned at the beginning of the 19th century in order to erect a new, modern building. Between 1804 and 1806, Friedrich Anton von Korff and his wife Rosine had a simple castle built in the classicism style. He commissioned Adolph von Vagedes as the architect, who used the Anhalt Castle of Wörlitz near Dessau as a model for his plans.
