Like many villages, Bralitz changed from a fishing village to a farming village after it was drained.
In the 20th century, the region experienced economic prosperity through brickworks, sawmills and fishing. One of the largest lumber camps in Germany was located on Lake Oderberger. Oderberg had its own newspaper, three train stations and 15 wooden barge building companies!
The Oderberg Bralitz train station, which was closed in 1997, is now a residential building.
