Viewpoint over the lake Rottnen. You are truly amazed when you approach the vantage point and look over this really beautiful lake.

It is the fourth largest lake in the district. This path used to be used as a bridle path to the court square, which was between Linneryd and Nöbbele in Ryd. The area once belonged to the village of Linneryd, but after a lawsuit the ownership right was assigned to Ulfsåkraholm, which belonged to the municipality of Växjö. Between the lakes Rottnen and the enchanting lake Tomtsjön there is an approx. 100m long canal dug around 1880. This made steamboat traffic between the lakes possible and so one drove with the horse-drawn carriage to the landing stage at Tomtsjön and then on by train from Hovmanstorp to Wexiö. Steamboat traffic was operated for 43 years. A beautiful circular route along the 900m long lake goes over the bridge, known as the magic bridge.
