From around the 7th century to the middle of the 12th century, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was settled by Slavic tribes. Even today place names testify to the Slavic influence. In memory of this time, the construction of the Slavic village Neustrelitz on Zierker See began in November 1994. More information: slawendorf-neustrelitz.de.

The Slavs settled in Mecklenburg - Vorpommern from the 7th century to the middle of the 12th century. To quickly get an overview of the nearly 1.5-acre village grounds, you can climb the twelve-meter-high watchtower.
