The Wartturm in Friedberg
On the site of the until 1802 standing, medieval Wartturm, the "Mainzer waiting" was built from 1923 to 1928 an ironworking tower.
The striking, octagonal building (38 m) by architect August Metzger has three functions: water tower with one high and three earth tanks, lookout tower with a wide view from balcony and roof terrace and memorial for the victims of the wars.
