A very nice cycle path along a picturesque canal full of life. You have to take the time to stop to enjoy the animals encountered on the way, the many benches or rest areas along the track, the very beautiful villages crossed. It is ideal for a family bike ride.

The canal was built in 1682 by Vauban to bring sandstone from Soultz to Strasbourg to build the fortification. After World War II, the canal was abandoned because the bridges and locks were unsuitable for modern cargo ships.
