The sand holes are relics of an old quarry in which dolomite sand was mined. On tight trails you come to the holes and small caves that you can discover here. In the immediate vicinity there is a barbecue area - if you want to have an extended break ... By the way, the approach to the holes on the plateau is a real highlight.

On the eaves at Wacholderhöhe you can marvel at some sand holes. The so-called sand ball caves were formed when dolomite sand was mined here. The former quarry contains small caves, holes and hollows that can be visited on winding paths.
Those who are hungry from hiking can take a break at the nearby barbecue area, and the adjacent parking lot also serves as an entrance to the Wacholderhöhe eaves.
