After a hike to the beautiful Ötzlsee lake, you can stop at the cozy Talwirt inn. Enjoy a delicious iced coffee on the sun terrace and the magnificent view. Next to the inn, you can buy homemade delicacies like bacon in the Stüberl farm shop. The nearby Großarltal Valley Museum is also worth a visit.

Nice rustic inn at the head of the Grossarl Valley. Nice sun terrace. Down-to-earth Austrian cuisine. On the first floor there is a beautiful exhibition on the animals of the forest, which belongs to the National Park Museum right next door. (for a fee) I can also highly recommend this.
I recommend the exhibition in the basement for everyone who is interested in customs and who wants to get a little scared. Perchten and Krampus masks can be viewed here. Entry is free here. However, I would advise against visiting with smaller children here.
