Following the success of the komoot Women's Rally events, komoot will launch the IRIS x komoot Women's Weekender - Lowlands edition, a three-day cycling adventure in the Benelux for women. We have a shared mission to help women overcome barriers to participate in adventurous bikepacking trips. Iris herself joined the komoot Women's Torino-Nice Rally in 2022 together with 50 other women. She wants to make this special experience of taking on a cycling adventure with a group of women possible in the Benelux. Komoot sees enabling cycling adventures in which women of all backgrounds support each other, as part of their mission to make outdoor adventures accessible to all. Therefore IRIS and komoot teamed up to create this Women's Weekender - Lowlands edition. The first edition will start on June 23 from cycling cafรฉ Kamu in Breda and will end in Maastricht with a finishers party for all participants. The route itself and the two overnight stays at a nature campsite are fixed and arranged, but along the way participants are on their own and dependent on each other. The total distance is around 280km and cover all types of surface but mainly gravel and (un)paved cycle paths. Komoot Community Manager Carola Groeneveld has created the route with support of local route builders Bjorn Kamman, Yorit Kluitman and Bram Tankink.Participation in the IRIS x komoot Weekender is free and registration is open as of now. To maintain an intimate atmosphere, a maximum of 50 women can participate. We will select these 50 women via a raffle, see the registration link below. ๐๏ธ Date: 23-25 June

โฐ Sign up closes: 4th June 23:59 CETAfter the registration date closes we will announce the selected participants on June 6th in the comments below this Collection and by email. If you do not receive an email, your name hasn't been drawn but you will automatically be moved to the waiting list and notified if a place becomes available. Please note that the route shared is a concept route and not the final route we will be riding. The total distance will be approximately 280km. On Friday we will ride 85km, Saturday 110km and Sunday 85km. The final route will be released the week before the event.FAQs:๐โโ๏ธ Is it a race? Nope, itโs a non-competitive rally. You will ride at your own pace.
๐โโ๏ธ Does it cost money? Thereโs no ticket price. Itโs a free-to-enter, self-supported rally where you pay for your own travel and food. The campsites are arranged and paid by us.
๐โโ๏ธ Do people ride together? Usually! Groups often form out of different paces and preferences. You can ride at your own pace and find a group to share the ride with for that day.
๐โโ๏ธ Where will I stay? We have arranged the campsites for you, but you need to bring your own tent and sleeping gear.
๐โโ๏ธ What bike do I need? A bike on which you can mount bikepacking bags, since you need to carry your own stuff. There will be some gravel sections so a bike with wider tires is to be advised. A gravel bike or mountainbike is perfect!
๐โโ๏ธ What do I need to bring? You need to bring your own tent, sleeping gear, cutlery and anything else you need to survive 3 days and 2 nights on a bike packing adventure.
๐โโ๏ธ How much experience do I need? Check out the route to see if youโre comfortable with it. We want to make this accessible for all, so you can always take short cuts or detours whenever you want to. A good general level of fitness and some experience is essential, but you donโt need to have bike packing experience before.
๐โโ๏ธ What happens if I have bike issues? Riders are always happy to help each other out, exchange skills, and swap snacks while fixing bikes. You can also head to bike repair shops and buy replacement parts in larger towns.
๐โโ๏ธ How inclusive is the term โwomenโ? The komoot Womenโs Rally welcomes all women, no matter their background, including transgender women. If you identify as a woman and you love riding, you belong in our adventure!
๐โโ๏ธ I have another question: Ask other questions in the comments of this Collection and weโll get back to you ASAP.

Must stop voor fietsers!
