Vandring
Until the dam wall was raised in the 1950s, the "Eichert" was still a peninsula, but has been popularly referred to as the "love island" since then, as lovers in the area obviously like to withdraw there. Source: eifel-blicke.de/go/eifelblicke-detail/43_nideggen_schmidt_schoene_aussicht/1/0/1.html

Vandring
In the northern part of the Rursee lies the completely wooded island of Eichert (you can only get there by swimming or by boat). To the south of it there is a headland on Tonsberg, on which there are remains of a Celtic place of worship. West of the Eichert is the Eschauel peninsula, where there is also a beach.
