Hengsteysee - Southeast Shore Section from behind the run-of-river power plant, across the Hengsteysee Bridge, to the northeast shore path on the Syberg cliffs
A scenic section along the southeast shore of Hengsteysee. Here you can enjoy hiking, cycling, running, or walking from the run-of-river power plant, past the Koepchenwerk and Niedernhof on the opposite shore, to the Hengsteysee Bridge. From here, you can climb the Syberg via hiking trails, all the way up to the Kaiser Wilhelm Monument, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view.

Here you can enjoy hiking, cycling, running, or walking from the run-of-river power plant, past the Koepchen power station and Niedernhof on the opposite shore, to the Hengsteysee Bridge. From there, a beautiful, green path continues along the south shore from the bridge to the mouth of the Lenne River. The old railway truss bridge at the confluence of the Lenne and Ruhr rivers is also worth seeing.

Terrengsykling
The Hengsteysee, which extends from the confluence of the Lenne in the Ruhr in the north Hagens to the west, offers from catering to boat rentals of various kinds to excursion boats - there runs the MS "Freiherr vom Stein" - several recreational opportunities. Nevertheless, it is by nature a rather calm lake in the Ruhr valley.
