Morbid charm of centuries past! But a great contrast when hiking along the steep and winding paths around Bad Ems with many lovely places to stop for a break right on the Lahn promenade.

On the banks of the Lahn there is not only a promenade, but also the Kurhaus, a grand hotel, an old casino, and the Römerquelle. If you go a little further downstream you will also come to the Church of St. Martin and the Karlsburg. If you cross the Lahn, for example over the Kurbrücke, you will come to the Quellenturm and the Russian Church. The train station is not far away either.
