A highlight in the pedestrian zone is the “Hands of Fame” promenade.
Following the example of Hollywood's "Walk of Fame", there is the "Hands of Fame" in Wittmund, a promenade in the pedestrian zone with handprints of famous personalities from show, politics, sport, music and art. Clinker plates are used for the handprints
from the Wittmund clinker factory, which is known for its “Wittmund clinker”.
Since 2010, there has been a Federal President's Square in Wittmund, which is unique in Germany and features handprints of seven Federal Presidents.
