The Nabburg-Oberviechtach route was opened on August 18, 1904, and the last train ran on October 15, 1994. But thanks to entrepreneur Siegfried Rossmann, there are no ruins in Oberviechtach, but a beautiful station building. In 2012, the completion of the exterior renovation was celebrated. Since then, the special feature of the station has been the "Hanomag" locomotive from 1899, which is reminiscent of railway history in a glass locomotive shed.

The Nabburg-Oberviechtach line was opened on August 18, 1904, and the last train ran on October 15, 1994. In addition to the well-preserved station building, there are overview boards for the Bavarian-Bohemian Friendship Trail, various information boards about the region and exhibits on the history of railways in Oberviechtach, and the Planet Trail also begins here. The station's special feature is the "Hanomag" locomotive from 1899, which commemorates railway history in a glass engine shed.
