The Wupper dam is used for flood protection and the low water level of the Wupper and was opened in 1987 and today offers a habitat for numerous animal and plant species and is now a popular destination.

Here you will find ideal conditions for water sports: The bathing area is located at the Kräwinkler Bridge (water sports and leisure facility). In addition to swimming, you also have the opportunity to explore the dam from the water by renting boats and pedal boats.

Diving licenses for the underwater world can also be purchased here.
