Biebrich Castle was the baroque residence of the princes and later dukes of Nassau on the banks of the Rhine in Biebrich (incorporated into Wiesbaden in 1926).
The building was not built according to a uniform design, but was repeatedly expanded between 1700 and 1750 until a three-wing complex was finally developed from a garden shed. As such, it was one of the most important baroque palaces on the Rhine. On the side facing away from the Rhine is the extensive castle park, where a well-known equestrian tournament takes place every year at Pentecost. The castle houses, among other things, the Hessian State Office for Monument Preservation. It also serves representative purposes of the Hessian state government.

Here you should not ride a bike but really push. Lots of pedestrians and lots of ducks and geese. Better to come by for a walk. It's really worth it. The artificial castle ruins with the lake in front are a great photo motif
