Church building of the 20th century. in the early twenties, it was like a railway station on the border between Latvia and Poland (in those years). The building was built at a rapid pace, with massive walls and a beautiful dome over the central parts of the building. In 1944, the retreating Germans wanted to wipe it off the face of the earth, and as a result, two thirds of the building disappeared into nothingness.
Until the 20th century At the beginning of the 1960s, the building served as a station, but then the Latvian Railways abandoned it. Managers changed - the building was completely demolished. The building stood on the side of the tracks, useless to anyone, with a hole in the roof, leaking and moldy walls, empty windows and doorways, until it was noticed by deans A. Madelāns and A. Olehno from Daugavpils, as well as priest Klavcāns.
The construction of the church took three years. The members of the parish carried out a complete restoration of the building with their own efforts. Part of the construction materials was purchased thanks to the support of the local municipality.
