Be careful, komoot is misleading here!
Access is only possible from the south via the old train station, with the highlight being "Schwanewede Naval Station."
And the street "an der Kaserne" is completely accessible by bike.

Komoot had guided us along the sandy tracks north of the cemetery. That was also an experience, but not exactly productive...

A very impressive site. Victims of the labor camps surrounding the submarine bunker are buried here. They were liberated by the British, but all help came too late. They died between April and August 1945.
A large part of the area is also an abandoned cemetery for people from Neuenkirchen and Schwanewede. A single grave (+1953) is still being tended.
A huge thank you to those who maintain this place and keep it accessible!
