The island is probably the most spectacular of the archipelago. Steep, with tropical rain forest overgrown, up to 960 m high basalt cone shape the landscape. Rugged cliffs with narrow gaps and deep gorges rise directly out of the sea. There is no coastal border. At some valley cuts, small beaches of black sand have formed. On the fertile soil thrive juicy citrus fruits and colorful plants.
The small village of Hanavave is easy to explore on foot. So you can reach in about one hour, a nearby waterfall, where you can refresh yourself. Bear in mind, however, that sturdy footwear is necessary in any case, as the paths can be partly muddy and very uneven. In addition, you may have to cross a stream on the way there.
