Built in very recent times, and dedicated to the Blessed Odorico da Pordenone, the church was opened for worship on 19 October 1991. The building stands on the edge of the historic centre, along Viale della Libertà, one of the well-known access roads. The project, by the well-known Ticino architect Mario Botta, interpreted the liturgical and pastoral needs of a city, which after the industrial boom of the 1960s and strong economic growth, had the desire to equip itself with structures, including religious ones, of high value artistic and architectural.

The church, whose original project was presented by Botta in June 1988, has two particularities. The first: the quadriportico in front of the building strongly marks the sacred space, without separating it from the city. The second: the upper part characterized by the emergence of a truncated cone, which also indicates from the outside the place of the altar and the assembly; from the glass that closes it, the light that radiates the interior rains down.

On the right, next to the tabernacle, kept in a glass case, the sweet and delicate image of the Madonna with Child is venerated, attributed to the valuable pictorial school of Gentile da Fabriano (15th century).
