The Saint Avoye Chapel was erected in 1550 in Saint-Rémy-en-Mauges, at the crossroads of the Chapter, Perray, Coudray and Rochard roads, to fulfill the wish of the young Ursule Megret, miraculously cured of her unhealthy fear.

Legend has it that on December 24, 1544, Ursule MEGRET was born in Saint-Rémy-en-Mauges, daughter of nobleman Pierre MEGRET and Jacquine VAIROUX. Despite the care she received from her parents, Ursule screamed at everything she saw for the first time and this fear increased as night fell.

In the fall of 1549, Ursule was going to be 5 years old, and undoubtedly because of her continual fears, she was not growing up. His mother spoke at length with a noble Lady of Bazouge, owner of Plessis Clairembault and the Baron of Bohardy. Both advised him to take the little girl to the oldest of the canons of Saint-Rémy-en-Mauges. The next day, Ursule and her parents went to the chaplain to ask him for a solution to her problem. The old priest gave the advice to make 9 pilgrimages to the Plessis Clairembault chapel.

Returning from the 8th pilgrimage, under a very dark night, at the junction of several paths (current location of the chapel), Ursule flinched and began to cry, shouting: "Oh the big beast! Mom, I'm going to die!!" . Ten meters from them, there stood a wolf with two blazing eyes, they fled very quickly. The 9th pilgrimage had not yet passed and it was necessary to carry it out so that the wish could be granted. Ursula then thought that by building a chapel at this crossroads, her fear would disappear: "I thought that perhaps there was a Saint in heaven with the same name as me, and that if we built a chapel in the place where the wolf was, we would put his statue there. If Saint Ursula was not afraid to stay there alone, well, I won't have any more fears, I promise!"

A chapel was then built, a statue of Saint Ursula was installed there and on the other side, the portrait of young Ursula.
