Griffin Monument can be seen from town in Silver Plume, and the hike up does not take too long. The highway noise fades as you get closer to the monument, and you can walk a little past the monument to see a cascading waterfall. There are informational signs along the trail and at the monument explaining the relevance of the surrounding mining history.
