The church was built in 1410 by Mykolas Gintilavičius-Gentvila by order of Prince Vytautas the Great. In 1445 she was endowed with a benefice (later donated by Giedraičiai). The pastor had jurisdiction over the town, 8 villages and 3 lakes. In 1542 St. The altar of St. Anna was erected in 1542.
