"The swan pond at the city library was created in the early 1960s when Bergheim's main train station was relocated to its current location. With a children's playground. The main train station stood here until it was moved to its current location. In the park with a large pond, a monument reminds us that the train station was used in 1940 to transport fellow citizens of the Jewish faith to Gurs - as was the case throughout Baden and the Palatinate. Most of them didn't survive.
