There are ruins from Altiport here. And a "table of orientation"
At the top of the pass, if the weather is good, you should definitely take the short walk to the viewpoint 15 meters higher to the south. There, a top panorama of the Ecrins massif with the peaks of La Meije, Le Râteau and Le Pic de la Grave opens up, which is not visible from the top of the pass itself!
the road up here is quite lonely. not quite as steep from Alpe d'Huez, stretches leisurely.
quite steep from Mizoen and finally some switchbacks, nice for the descent.

The Col de Sarenne is an unknown pass despite the passage of the Tour de France in 2013 on the occasion of the 18th stage and the centenary of the Tour de France where the riders had climbed Alpe d'Huez twice!
It is a very difficult climb both on its western side and on its south-eastern side where the final is one of the most difficult of the Alpine passes. It is also one of the most beautiful with a pastoral road, quiet, almost free of all traffic and crossing a protected natural area.
By mountain bike, you can go down by road but also take paths, both on the Ferrand valley side and on the Sarenne valley side.
A path goes up to an orientation table where you can observe a 360 degree landscape.
