On the west coast of the island of Rhodes is the archaeological site of Kamiros from the Hellenistic period, which stretches up a slope in several terraces. It was one of the three ancient cities of Rhodes and was destroyed by an earthquake about 2000 years ago. The city is divided into three zones: below was the market square (agora), above the residential town and at the top of the slope was the acropolis. If you go to the top of the archaeological site, you also have a wonderful view over the Aegean Sea.
