    Since 2010, the ThyssenKrupp Quartier has been the headquarters of ThyssenKrupp AG with the particularly striking glass cube that can be seen from afar, the main building Q1. The entire site (except for the buildings, of course) is freely accessible all year round and, in addition to the architecture, also offers a 4800 square meter water axis and (at least originally) 15 different tree species from five continents.

        ThyssenKrupp AG planned and built the ThyssenKrupp Quartier Essen on an inner-city site of over 20 hectares. The quarter for 2,500 employees includes both the new ThyssenKrupp headquarters and other office and administration buildings of the group.

        There is also a multifunctional building with a conference center and employee catering, as well as the ThyssenKrupp Academy, a hotel and other additional buildings with a total of around 100,000 m².

        The modern quarter was built according to the design of the architectural firm Chaix & Morel et Associés, Paris and JSWD Architekten und Partner, Cologne. Werner Sobek was responsible for the structural planning of the special structures and facades.
