The Augustinermuseum in Freiburg im Breisgau is one of the most important museums on the Upper Rhine. Not only the art of the Middle Ages can be visited here.
I was amazed about the models of the city of Freiburg about 30 years ago. How it looks after the very long reconstruction and renovation, but I can not (yet) say.

Art from the Middle Ages to the early 19th century can be admired in the Augustinermuseum. The architect Christoph Mäckler turned the former monastery church into a modern museum building in the heart of Freiburg. The highlights include paintings by Hans Baldung Grien, Matthias Grünewald and Lucas Cranach the Elder. The sculpture hall turns medieval statues such as the sandstone figures of the minster into a sensual experience and impresses with a ceiling height of twelve meters.
