This gravel road is the main reason why I went bikepacking in Andalusia. This beautiful wide gravel road is located on top of the plateau, in an area also called Spanish Lapland. There are several refugios (shelters) to stay in along the popular cycling and walking route. Towards the north the road climbs steadily upwards and be sure to take into account the wind or even rain here in the mountains. The barren landscape and emptiness is enchantingly beautiful.
