    The Berlin-Frohnau train station is located in the center of the Frohnau district of Berlin (Reinickendorf district). From its opening until January 31, 1938, it bore the name Frohnau (Mark). The nearest station to the north is Hohen Neuendorf station, to the south is Hermsdorf station.

    The platform has an entrance at the northern end. This leads through the station building to the south side of the Frohnauer Bridge and to Ludolfingerplatz west of the railway line. East of the railway line is the Zeltinger Platz, there is a taxi rank. There are also bus stops at both places.

    Long before Frohnau was founded, the Northern Railway between Berlin and Stralsund had been running here since 1877. From 1891 it was double-tracked. A gatekeeper's cottage stood on the site of today's Frohnau station. The nearest stations were Hermsdorf to the south and Stolpe to the north (Stolpe station was just north of what is now Invalidensiedlung and was closed in 1924). When the Frohnauer Bridge was built in 1909, the railway tracks were lowered, the area was filled up and the road bridge was built to connect the districts built on both sides of the railway. On May 1, 1910, the new Frohnau station was inaugurated; 1640 visitors were counted. On April 1, 1925, the steam trains were replaced by the electric S-Bahn to Oranienburg.

    When the Berlin Wall was built in 1961, the S-Bahn line between the Frohnau and Hohen Neuendorf stations was interrupted. Despite the shrinking passenger numbers as a result of the S-Bahn boycott that began after 1961, operations along the northern line were maintained and even continued after the Reichsbahn strike in 1980. Operations only ceased when the BVG took over the operating rights on January 9, 1984. Since the passengers spoke out in favor of operation with massive protests after the takeover, it was resumed on October 1, 1984.

    After German reunification, the gap across the West Berlin city limits between Frohnau and Hohen Neuendorf was closed, initially as a single track with the option of rebuilding the second track, so that since May 31, 1992, continuous S-Bahn operations on the northern line to Oranienburg have been possible again.
