The market square, where merchants offered their goods for sale as early as the 13th century, is dominated by the Peters family.
This actually consists of two buildings that were once separated by a narrow alleyway.
Accordingly, the years of construction 1557 and 1616 are carved into the framework.
If you look closely, you can see that the richest and most magnificent Springer town house was built much later.
With its bay window on the gable end, the so-called Utlucht, it represents a typical example of architecture from the Weser Renaissance period.
However, the lavish flat carvings, especially on the long side of the house, already point to the nearby Baroque.
