Gothenburg's indoor market, Stora Saluhallen, is just two minutes from the tourist information center on Kungstorget. In the market hall you will find, among other things: Fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, bread, flowers, baked goods, chocolate, nuts, dried fruits, spices, coffee, tea, sausage, cheese and many other delicacies from all over the world. A total of 40 shops and small restaurants are now united under the roof of the hall.
The Saluhallen was inaugurated in 1889. At that time there were still well over 90 shops under its roof, although the hall was even smaller back then than it is today.
In 2012 the Saluhallen was extensively renovated.
