You can make of it what you like. It should be of particular appealing to anyone interested in History and how we used to live and also provides the opportunity to see many forms of wildlife.

The walk takes you along good paths mostly on the level. Most are former mineral lines that served the local collieries. It is difficult to imagine how the landscape would have looked.

The National Library of Scotland is a wonderful resource to help explore what existed were you are walking. The slider that reveals the layers of maps is fascinating giving a peek into the past.

There are other car parks along this walk.
The old mineral railway lines have been retained to provide great walking and cycling opportunities. Most are wheelchair and pushchair accessible.
In the Winter months the paths can become water logged.
