Large building in the Normandy countryside in La Hague. It is an old stately farm dating from the 16th Century. You can pass by bike but it is strongly recommended to push your way to Ommonville-la-Rogue, with its magnificent view of the sea.

This old stately farm, with an enclosed courtyard, dates from the 16th century. Tourp comes from the Scandinavian “Thorp” designating in Normandy, rural settlements located outside villages.
First a fortified house with a circular defense tower and loopholes (still visible today), the Tourp became ennobled over the years with the construction of a stately house with its square tower, a dovecote (privilege of the nobility), a bakery and a chapel. The Tourp manor was an agricultural operation until 1994.
The manor became the property of the Conservatoire du Littoral in 1994 and is currently managed by the municipality of La Hague. Since 2002, the Tourp manor has been a cultural and tourist space aiming to highlight the heritage of La Hague and Cotentin.
All year round, it offers a varied program accessible to all, such as exhibitions, activities, shows, workshops for children and, its main attraction: the “A treasure at the end of the world” show trail to discover, in five settings lively, the history of the Hague and its inhabitants.
The Manoir du Tourp's mission today is to be a gateway to the territory, a place of friendly and warm architecture, to allow everyone to discover the heritage through encounter, experience and wonder.
