            The Haller is referred to as observation post of the castle, because of him from the Rurtal could see much better. Other sources see in him a bailey to protect the monastery Reichenstein. In 1570 his stones were used to repair the castle.

A footpath over the "Half Moon" another view on the way up, the ruins can be reached in a few minutes. The Haller is commonly referred to as observation post of the castle, because of him from the Rurtal could see much better. Other sources see in him a bailey to protect the monastery Reichenstein.Noch in a drawing from 1543 it is presented as a roofed, imposing tower. In 1570, his stones were used to repair the castle.

                                    The panoramic views from the heights are spectacular. I recommend going around the town over the hills: always different views of the valley, of the castle and the Haller ruins. For me one of the most beautiful places in the Eifel / Ardennes region.
