Gordes is a Provencal village located in the heart of the Vaucluse mountains. The high-altitude village was built entirely from dry stone and is one of the most beautiful villages in France.

From here you have a fantastic view of the old town with its Gordes Castle, which stands on a rocky peak about 360 meters high and rises about 300 meters above the valley level. The view of the mountain village is simply stunning, especially at sunrise.

Great location in Provence. Unfortunately that is why it is almost always very crowded. On the last tour the landlord in St. Saturnin said that the locals would never go to Gordes, too expensive (tourist trap), too crowded. That is a statement...
Fortunately, there is a cycle path into the town center that shields you from traffic. But then upstairs - also very full with Corona. We fled :)
