        Nanpu Bridge connects the 'old' Shanghai in Puxi with the 'new' Shanghai in Pudong. It is a cable stay bridge and probably best know for its spiral approach ramp on the Puxi side.
        The bridge was built from 1988 to 1991, and was the first bridge over the Huangpu River in central Shanghai. Previous bridges had been far outside the downtown area.
        The bridge is for vehicle traffic only. Pedestrians and cyclists need to continue using the ferry services.
