The Nemitzer Heide is a beautiful heathland in the district of Lüchow-Dannenberg. Even during the heather bloom, the Nemitzer Heide is nowhere near as crowded with tourists as most areas in the Lüneburg Heath. Carriage rides are also offered here, but overall, things are relatively quiet here. A nice place to hike and relax. Most of the trails are made of soft sand, so most trails are difficult to cycle. I would recommend storing bicycles at the Nemitzer Heidehaus and hiking from there (that's how I always do it when I cycle into the Nemitzer Heide).
