Border crossing between Albbruck and Schwaderloch for bike and on foot. Nice section to sometimes around the Rhine between Albbruck, Dogern and back over the Swiss side to turn a round.
Very impressive architecture of this bunker. Built close to the customs house, a semi-egg-shaped small bunker protrudes from the ground, with metal doors and a shooting hole. This is the Schindler bunker. Gotfried Schindler (1904-1990) was a Swiss architect. He held patents in Germany and Switzerland for small, hit-proof bunkers. His architectural office in Zurich was primarily concerned with shelter buildings. On my bike tours in the border area, I see a lot of bunkers, but I've never seen anything like this! Rare and worth seeing, I would highly recommend it.
