The "Lautertopf" is one of the strongest karst springs in the Swabian Alb and here a real river emerges almost out of nowhere. The small Lauter, however, is only 6 kilometers long and then flows into the blue. The water comes from the highlands of the Swabian Alb, where it seeps into the limestone and flows underground for many kilometers to this source.
One of the area's numerous karst springs, smaller than the Blautopf, but no less beautiful. The Gasthaus Lamm is just around the corner and is conveniently located on the bike path to Laichingen / Merklingen. Always worth a visit.
