Always a pleasure to cycle along this famous old road! Tip: It's not far from here to Büdingen and then further past the former Celtic stronghold of Glauberg to Stockheim (about 60 kilometers). From there you can take the Niddertalbahn (the so-called Stockheimer Lieschen) back to Bad Vilbel.

At the entrance to Hohe Straße in Bergen, the regional park route "Hohe Straße" meets the Frankfurt Green Belt. The place designed here honors this entrance situation: a place to sit, rest and see, as well as a lounge under fruit trees. Some of them are old: 20 apple and cherry trees were newly planted.

Even in the Middle Ages, the Hohe Straße was an important connection between the trade fair cities of Frankfurt am Main and Leipzig and at the same time part of a "via Regia", a road protected by the king that stretched from Kiev to Santiago de Compostella.

Even those who are on the green belt may take a break here after the sporting increase on the mountains-Enkheimer slope or before the rapid descent down to the Ried.
