The tarred dirt road south of the state road also has its pitfalls. The last time I went up there it was dangerously slippery through the moss growth.
Most of the time I drive through the town of Nemmersdorf and up via Reuth, a little longer but much more relaxed.
I'll enter the Nemmersdorfer Durchfahrt as a route in Komoot, because I always got lost at the beginning.

If you come from Goldkronach, it is unfortunately not that easy. The green arrow bike path is easy to ride on a touring bike. With the racing bike there is a piece of dirt road between the places, which bothers you. Then it's a bit over the state road.
