Until 1972, bread was baked in Hausener Bachmannstraße, after which the buildings stood empty for a while. In the early 1980s, a group of activists from the Frankfurt Sponti scene took the initiative and founded a cultural center. For example, the historic industrial building of the Hausener Brotfabrik is home to one of Frankfurt's oldest self-governing centers. Among other things, the association Kulturprojekt 21 organizes a broad program with concerts, club nights and numerous other events such as readings, discussions on social topics, lectures or film screenings.
