At 657 meters, the Fuchskaute is the highest elevation in the Westerwald. However, the really highest point is not outdoors, where the cross is, but hidden in the forest next door.

The highest elevation is not there, where the cross stands, that is only the south elevation, to the highest summit of the Fuchskaute still missing 80 cm. The highest point is west of the lodge in the forest.
